After a string of box office failures and disappointing roles in Daddy Day Camp, Chill Factor, Radio, Boat Trip, Snow Dogs, Instinct, Norbit, Pearl Harbor and just about every film he has starred in since winning an Oscar for Jerry Maguire, Cuba Gooding Jr. decided it was time for a change.
Trying to repeat the success of Jerry Maguire, where he played an embattled wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, Gooding explained that he would no longer be taking any roles that “did not require him to play a struggling wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals.”
